RORC Red Funnel Easter Challenge

Our first day back on the water in 2008 we took this one as a training regatta much like most other contenders each year. With snow and sleet and 1 man over board in the class before start on day 1 racing got cancelled. The man overboard got picked up by helicopter out of freezing water and made a full recovery. The following day were still cold but more promising and we managed to get a few races in and learnt were our weaknesses were and what we need to work on for this season. Position wise we came middle of the fleet, but not really a concern for us in this race or this early in the season. The rest of the class suffered quite a few broken bits and boats so all in all a reasonable result.
