Warsash Spring Series
Our 2nd training races for the season. Day 1 held 4 races for us with our mostly new crew and it was enough for us to see where we are good and where we need more concentration. We ranged between 6-4 until we finally finished the day in 2nd after starting as 7. Again, good learning for us and it showed us a few weaknesses in both crew and boat that we have fixed and we should now be in a good position and ready for the season as such. From here we expect to do a little more tweaking over the next 2 races but the main structure and approach should be in place and from there it is down to attitude, teamwork, refinement and synchronisation. Day 2 was cancelled after most boats were totally covered 10cm of snow by 08:30 and it was deemed too dangerous to send slippery decks to sea, and not safe to operate race committee support boats. So really only 2 days of racing and training thus far in the season when we hoped to have 4. We await warmer racing and the crew is really looking forward to some better weather in our season start teambuilding event: Antigua Sailing week in a few weeks. Brrrrr...
