Fortis Excel Big Boat 2 Race Report

Saturday - Race 1:

Farr 45 Yacht Racing Farr 45 Yacht Racing

3rd and the entire crew was at their best to date. Interchanging Kiwi and Tom on trim worked very well. Flawless!

Saturday - Race 2:

Skipped in favour of extreme training: The very short windward leeward course chosen for practise was tiny and the work plentiful. I am sure the intense pace Jeremy coached us through will pay off in routines and confidence later. Some more training would not hurt..

Saturday - Race 3:

Did Not Start. A crew-member is always more important than a race: It was right to head back after a tough day to ensure the safety and well being of our ever committed mid-bow Sarah. You will be pleased to hear she is doing fine. I am sure the crew did not mind a pint in place of a race after all their hard work earlier in the day..

Sunday - Race 1:

2nd fending off Werewolf and Henri Lloyd Cutting Edge – I am extremely impressed with our result in this light wind race. Luck was a very minor component, but tactics and good trim wasn’t.

Sunday - Race 2:

2nd even beating the TP 52’s. Despite even lighter winds we were proven right to never give up. Some bad luck and some good luck but on-going great tactics, fine-tuning and keeping at it ALL THE TIME! This was a slow and very mentally draining / hard race. Well done.
